"Vivekananda Yuvaka Sangha" is functioning actively from 4 years under the guidance of Swami Veereshananda Saraswathi, the President of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Ashram, Tumkur. The aim of the sangha is to guide & train the youth towards developing a strong, all-round personality as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda.
In order to spread the life building, character-making & man-making ideas of Swami Vivekananda, the youth forum had organised a week long programme called "Yuva Viveka Saptaha" from January 12th to January 20th 2008 on the occasion of the 143rd birthday of Swami Vivekananda which is also celebrated as "National Youth Day" throughout India. More than 6000 students from nearly 40 colleges across Tumkur city benefitted from this programme.
On each day of the programme, two eminent personalities were invited to deliver lectures pertaining to various apsects of personality which Swami Vivekananda stressed upon. The Questions and answers session on each day of the program conducted by Rev. Swami Veereshananda Saraswathi was the highlight of this year's programme.
