Revered Swami Nirbhayananda Saraswathi is the President
of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Ashrama, Gadag & Bijapur. He is a Graduate and was a bank employee in his pre-monastic days. Very
early in his life, he came under the influence of the Inspiring life, work and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.
In the year 1984, Swamiji founded "Vivekananda Seva Kendra" in Mangole
of Bijapur district which has now become a free Residential school for orphans and underprivileged children. He has adopted children
of kargil Martyrs and is giving them free education till 10th standard in this residential school.
Later in his life, Swamiji came under the influence of Swami Purushottamanandaji Maharaj,
a Senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order and under his instruction, Swamiji took sanyas in 1993.
Swamiji has represented India & Hinduism in the 4th World Parliament of Religions
which was held in Barcelona, Spain from 5th July - 13th July 2004. He delivered a Speech in the World Parliament on the subject "Educative Initiatives of India" and
participated in a panel discussion with religious representatives and delegates from different countries. The same year Swamiji delivered lectures in
different Universities of France & Italy pertaining to the Philosophy of Vedanta.
In 2006, Swamiji accepted an invitation from the Government of
Italy for Inaugurating its National Cultural Festival - "TURIN SPIRITUALITY" in the city of Turin, Italy. Swamiji undertook a
Spiritual tour from September 18th - December 2006 to some countries of Europe like Italy, Switzerland and France where in he spoke
on subjects like "Indian Religion & World Peace", "Vedanta & Human Upliftment" among others of International importance. He conducted Meditation classes & satsangs
in Europe.
Swamiji is the Chief editor of a Bi-Monthly magazine in kannada called "Viveka Deepthi" which caters to
the Moral & Spiritual needs of the Society especially youth. He is a powerful speaker who has addressed youths, teachers, professors, professionals and
made a powerful influence on them.
